Proper Equipment for Live Streaming. For your phone, get a selfie stick, tripod and decent mic. The smartphone headset mics are good.

Steaming to YouTube and Facebook Live from your desktop: Logitech is the best webcam and Blue makes good USB mics. Streaming software: OSB is a good, free and open source and works as a mixer too. Wirecast is good but costs $300+. For Macs, “Memo from Boinx” is what Ray uses. Streaming pre-recorded videos to multiple Facebook pages – Synd XPoser Pro is great.

Facebook live video will be adding “waiting rooms’ so you can schedule live video events. Beyond that:

· Be consistent. (e.g. do a live show every day at 2 pm)

· Let your audience know in groups, pages and your profile.

· Remember, most folks won’t join until you’ve been live for a minute or two because of the FB notification and many will see the video later.

· Make sure you have a good title, description and category

· Reply to comments both live and later

· Pay attention to stats and adjust

· Keep it short

· Make the video exciting. Have fun

· Add a Q & A

· Know what you want to accomplish in advance

Today on Video Marketing Madness – All About 360 and VR Video

To see what it looks like – make sure you have the Chrome browner. Open Chrome and go to YouTube and search on “360 video”. You also need the 360 VR headset. Google sells one called “Google Cardboard” and it’s $5.00. Amazon has a really nice one for $15.00. You can also check out 360 VR Video at Best Buy. There should be a display in the Samsung area.

So why 360 VR? It’s predicted it will be an $80 billion industry. Video games, sporting events and real estate/home sales.

Shooting 360 VR is easy. Simply set up the camera and let it go. Bes sure to get a camera that does around and top to bottom. Best Buy has a model for $400 but they are as cheap as $100. When editing, you’ll need decoding software

Today on Video Marketing Madness – How to Green Screen

Set up is important. Use a decent green screen background. It doesn’t have to be expensive. Pops up like a disc or square. Thick fabric or paper. Pull down like the old classroom maps.

Lights. Use florescent style. Two lights on the green screen and 3 point lighting on the subject. (key, fill and back). B&H has all this stuff.

Make sure the subject steps away from the background.

Then import into an editor that has green screening. Shotcut at FreeVideoEditor.co is free. Also there’s Final Cut Pro, Sony Vegas, Camtasia, etc.

There’s also green screening software to use for live apps like Facebook Live. Be sure the lighting is real good.

Extra tip – Don’t wear green. Red, orange and white best. Blue is in the green spectrum, so be careful.
